Kid Zone

Children are very important to us at FUMCCB. Parents and volunteers partner to teach our kids about God’s love and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We do this by making Bible stories come alive through storytelling, crafts, and various other activities.

Most elementary school kids start with their family in the 9:30 a.m. contemporary service. After the opening songs, children are dismissed for an age appropriate Bible lesson and activity. Although children are always welcome to remain with their families in worship, those who choose to participate in the children’s program are picked-up by parents after the service in our Sunday school classroom (room 2 downstairs).

We don't offer a children's program during the 11:00 a.m. traditional service, but encourage parents to teach their children about the basic rhythms of worship, helping them read the prayers, sing the songs, and participate in the sacraments. We also provide "Wiggle Bags" with activities that kids can do while Pastor Mark gives the sermon. The ushers are happy to help you find them in the narthex.

A nursery is provided during both services for infants and toddlers.

Note to Parents: The safety of your children is very important to us. Every volunteer in the children's ministry receives training in our denominational Child and Youth Protection Policy and must sign a covenant agreement to strictly abide by this policy. Your child will always be supervised by adults that have undergone a background check, and you are welcome to observe class and ask questions.

Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp: The UMC in Florida is blessed with awesome summer camp, and we encourage parents to consider allowing their children and youth to be a camper. It's a life changing experience! For more information: http://www.warrenwilliscamp.org/.
