Learn: Studies and Groups

If you want to grow spiritually, then you must invest time in your own learning. FUMC offers several opportunities to gather with others to learn the teachings of Jesus in ways that will transform your life!

 

First Step Luncheon. If you are interested in learning more about our church, Pastor Mark offers a luncheon once per month after the 11:00 a.m. service. In this gathering you will learn the mission, vision, values, and disciple-makig process at FUMC, as well as make new friends and find your next step on the disciple's path. The luncheon is usually offered the fourth Sunday of the month, but this schedule is subject to change, especially during the holidays. Contact the church office for the next luncheon.

 

Second Step Study: A Disciple's Path. After learning about the core principles at FUMC in the First Step Luncheon, you can join our Disciple's Path class to gain tools for a lifetime of spiritual growth. You will learn more about prayer, scripture meditation, worship, small groups, spiritual gifts, stewardship, and the importance of knowing and sharing your story. This class is offered once per quarter and lasts for 6 weeks.  Contact the office for the next session.   

 

Other Ongoing Groups and and Classes. We offer several other studies and groups throughout the year, ranging from weekly Bible studies to monthly affinity groups. For the most recent schedule, contact the church office.

 

Home Small Groups. Pastor Mark and Emma host a monthly small group in their home for those in their late-20s to early-40s, and Janice and Danny Blackburn host a monthly small group for those in their mid-40s to late-50s. These gatherings are focused on developing close friendships for mutual encouragement and support. Contact the church office to get connected. 

 

Special Offerings. Once a year we offer the following special groups and classes: How to Interpret the Bible (Fall), Financial Peace University (Winter), The Life and Teachings of Jesus (Spring), and Rebuilding: Divorce Recovery (Summer). Contact the church office for the next class.
