RAVE Youth

Welcome to the RAVE Youth Ministry!

Rave Youth Ministry is a student led group that brings real faith and real life together for 6-12th grade teens. We do this through weekly worship, small groups, youth leadership development, annual events, service projects, and mission trips. In addition to Sunday morning worship, our main gathering is on Sunday nights from 5:00-7:00pm in the youth facility, which is connected to the church fellowship hall, behind the sanctuary. Youth are also invited to join the youth ministry at our partner church, Grace UMC (Merritt Island), on Wednesdays, 5:30-8:00pm.

Youth Band: The youth band leads worship every Sunday evening. If you are interested in joining the band, contact Matt. Rehearsal is 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons in the youth worship room.

Student Leadership: Several students work with our Minister of Youth and adult volunteers to give leadership to our ministries. Official student leaders must have a strong relationship with Christ (including a daily devotional life), commit to three out of four monthly youth gatherings, attend Sunday morning worship, and intentionally disciple others in our youth ministry.

Confirmation: We offer confirmation every year as needed. In these classes, students are given in-depth lessons about the Bible, baptism, Holy Communion, and Christian living. At the end of the classes, each student is given the opportunity to make a public profession of faith, to accept the promises made in their baptism, and to become a full member of the church. Confirmands fully engage in the life of the church through worship, service, and small groups. Students in 6th grade and higher are welcome to participate as the classes are offered.

Our mission is to encourage all the youth of Cocoa Beach to learn and practice the teachings of Jesus in ways that create communities of love. In this way, they will experience transformation and be empowered to be the hands and feet of Jesus at school and beyond. We hope you will join us this week.

Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp: The UMC in Florida is blessed with awesome summer camp, and we encourage all of our parents to consider allowing your kids to be a camper. It's a life changing experience! For more information: http://www.warrenwilliscamp.org/.

Note to Parents: The safety of your teen is very important to us. Every volunteer is trained in our denominational Child and Youth Protection Policy and must sign a covenant agreement to strictly enforce this policy. Your youth will always be supervised by adults that have undergone national background checks. You are always welcome to observe groups and class and to contact our Minister of Youth, Matt Gleason (mlgleason@gmail.com), with any questions about our program.
